Situated just off the golf course in West Wodonga, the Wedge residence is a modern rebuild that reflects Trethowan Building’s in-house design expertise and commitment to refined, functional design. The project replaced an existing dwelling with a contemporary home that embraces minimalism, material contrast and natural light, all while enhancing energy efficiency and liveability.

Externally, the home’s strong linear form is defined by rendered finishes, cladding and brickwork, balanced by bold geometric proportions. The restrained palette and clean roofline create a timeless street presence, while the home’s orientation maximises northern light and passive solar performance. The use of brick introduces texture and authenticity, particularly in the custom-built outdoor fireplace, which forms a central feature in the alfresco area and anchors the connection between interior and exterior spaces.

Throughout the home, the minimalist aesthetic is softened by layered materials and thoughtful design details. Subtle tile selections, custom joinery, and carefully placed lighting contribute to a cohesive interior that feels warm and timeless. Every element, from the functional layout to the high-quality finishes, was designed to enhance everyday living. The interior palette focuses on soft luxury — a refined balance of contrast and warmth. The contrast of polished stone, timber flooring, and matte black joinery adds texture and depth without visual clutter.
