Rainbird Residence

Positioned in the scenic landscape of Huon Creek, the Rainbird Project is a refined expression of modern Hamptons design, tailored to suit the Australian lifestyle. Completed by Trethowan Building, the home integrates classic coastal influences with contemporary detailing, resulting in a residence that is elegant, functional, and perfectly in tune with its surroundings.

The exterior showcases a considered mix of textures and materials. James Hardie Axon cladding, Knotwood timber battens, and smooth rendered finishes create a balanced façade that feels timeless yet current. A custom Knotwood-clad garage door continues the horizontal rhythm of the design, while Eco Outdoor crazy paving defines the porch entry, establishing a tactile connection between the home and the natural environment.

Inside, the design focuses on flow, proportion, and natural light. The open-plan layout promotes easy transition between kitchen, dining, and living spaces, complemented by highlight windows and skylights that illuminate the interiors throughout the day. A curved internal wall provides architectural softness, subtly guiding movement through the home and balancing the clean linear forms.

The interior selections continue the emphasis on warmth and refinement. Engineered timber flooring grounds the main living spaces, while brushed brass fixtures and hardware add understated sophistication. The kitchen combines a Taj Mahal stone benchtop with custom joinery and tailored handles, creating a central space that is both functional and visually refined. Bathrooms feature curated tile selections, brushed brass tapware, and natural stone textures that mirror the home’s overall sense of quiet luxury. Selective lighting fixtures and lighting design encompass a home that is sophisticated yet functional.
